At your first appointment, we will need to spend time finding out about you:~
We'll want to know the main reason that you are coming for treatment and how your health and quality of life are affected.
We'll also want to know if you have any other health concerns and take a brief medical history.
We would appreciate it if you bring with you a list of any medication, vitamins, herbs or other supplements that you take.
It's important for us to analyse your diet to see if there are any changes that could be made to support you. With this in mind, please keep a detailed diet diary for at least 3 days before your appointment and bring it with you. Keep to your usual routine, just make a note of the time you eat and everything that you eat and drink.
We will start treatment at your first appointment, so please be prepared to undress if needed.
At each treatment we will spend time talking to you and finding out how you are. We will explain to you what treatment we feel is appropriate for you on the day and which acupuncture points we will use. We will make the location of the points clear to you, so that you are completely comfortable about the treatment you will be receiving.
We feel that it is important for everyone involved in your healthcare to be informed that you are receiving acupuncture treatment. With your permission, we would like to write to your GP to inform him/her that you are receiving treatment.
If you find that you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason, we do appreciate as much notice as possible. We do not charge late cancellation or non-attendance fees.
